Sunday Services

Kia Ora! Maloelelei!
Welcome to Grace Church Rotorua!

We are delighted to invite you to join us in worship and experience the love and grace of Jesus Christ.

Whether you are new to Rotorua, have lived here for a long time, or are just passing through, we warmly welcome you to be a part of our church.

We gather for worship every week as the Lord has called us to come and worship him as his body, the Church. Man’s chief end is to glorify Christ and enjoy him forever. One way we do this is by hearing from him in his Word, singing together, praying together, and sharing a cup of tea. We are expressing our love for the Lord through community together.

Join us this Sunday, 10am, at Lynmore Bowling Club.

What to expect in our worship service

We read scripture

We begin our service with a warm welcome, followed by a call to worship from the Bible. This is a special time where God’s people are invited to gather together to worship the Triune God.

Worship through Song

We express our praise to God through a blend of contemporary songs, psalms and beloved hymns. Our music is Christ centred and focussed around the morning’s Sermon

Call to Repentance

In recognition of our human frailty and need for God’s forgiveness, we take a moment to humbly seek His pardon for our sins.

Children’s Talk

During this service, we invite the children to come forward and hear a short special children’s message that ties into the day’s sermon.

Congregational Prayer

We engage in Congregational Prayer, lifting up our praises, concerns and intercessions together.

Sermon

An expository sermon grounded in the teachings of the Bible and its application for today. You can follow along in a Bible (and on the church projector screen).

Baptism

Baptism is a sacrament, wherein the washing with water in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, signify and seal our ingrafting into Christ, and partaking of the benefits of the covenant of grace, and our engagement to be the Lord’s.

Lord’s Supper (Communion)

We celebrate the Lord’s Supper (Communion) on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month.

People are encouraged to reflect upon the Lord’s redeeming work, and then take a piece of bread and a cup of wine or grape juice from the communion table.

Fellowship and Morning Tea

We believe in the importance of fellowship and building connections within our church family.

After the service, we invite you to stay for a time of fellowship over tea and refreshments. It’s an opportunity to meet new friends, share in conversations and receive encouragement.

At Grace Church Rotorua, we aim to be a welcoming church to anyone seeking to know Christ and deepen their relationship with Him. We embrace people of all ages, races and backgrounds because we believe that the church is about people, and God’s love knows no boundaries.

We believe that God calls families into worship of him, and encourage families to worship together in the service. Because of this, we do not have a special children’s church or Sunday school. Clipboards with activity sheets are provided at the back of the hall.

At the back of the meeting room, we have a child-friendly area where parents can feel a little more relaxed with their small children but still join in the worship. We have microphones for the church service – so please do not be hindered or embarrassed if your child is noisy.

Questions?

We understand that our worship service may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but as a church, we are committed to the authority of God’s Word. If you would like to learn more about our service or have any questions, Pastor Paul would be more than happy to meet with you and have a chat.
